Meursault 495–520,000 euros (exc kitchen) available Spring 2010
A picturesque cluster of three charming and authentic houses located at the heart of village life. The views of the surrounding vineyards are perhaps best enjoyed whilst sipping a glass of wine on your private rooftop terrace – a fabulous feature of all three properties.
Dating from 1820, the original buildings sit a little way up a gentle hill that leads to Meursault church, just two minutes walk from the town square with its array of traditional shops, post office, restaurants and Friday morning market.
Our complete refurbishment of these picturesque Burgundy properties will return the houses to their original configuration, with The Townhouse facing onto the quiet lane that runs down to the vineyards, and the Courtyard House and La Grange facing into the private courtyard with a direct view onto the vineyard that comes right up to the boundary walls.
All the roofs have been completely rebuilt, fully insulated and retiled, and the stone walls will be sandblasted and re-jointed. The original features include oak beams which will be treated and waxed to enhance their natural colour. We are also adding pretty new windows to maximize the spectacular view.
Each property at Meursault has a large entrance hall and oak staircases, spacious and light, open-plan living/dining and kitchen areas opening onto your private roof terrace, three large double bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, its own wine cellar and secure off-street parking.
We would like you to be involved with the choice of interior finishes, such as flooring, bathroom fittings and tiling, and for this reason the houses are sold without kitchen units - which we can fit at a later stage to meet your own specification.
